Don’t and Do’s

Don’t tell me
When time takes the colour from my skin
And replaces it with grey
Don’t pass remarks
When decay removes my smile
And places it in a glass
Don’t snigger
When the strength in my legs
Is replaced by life’s joke
Don’t sympathise
If I am left alone
Look to your own relationships
Don’t cry
When my last breath is stolen
And the thief refuses to return it
Don’t send flowers
When I am gone
Contribute to the living
Don’t tend my grave
When I am dust

Think of me laughing
Or think of me crying
Then think of me running
And think of me sharing
Think of me living

But mostly, please
Think of me loving you
I will live forever
In your heart
And we will never be apart
